It’s
“Snow”

activities! Check out Mrs. Swan's First Grade website too. There are some links
there that are not available on our website.

Just a few reminders:
Please
continue to practice word lists and spelling words every day.
Please
help our students get to school on time.
Our
late bell rings promptly at 8:45 and we need to be ready to begin.
Please
take time to read to your children & listen to them read to you.
Homework
Homework is given to students Monday through Thursday. No homework on Friday
(everyone needs a break)! Homework usually consists of one Language Arts
worksheet and one Math worksheet. Homework is due on the next day. Please send
in a note if you have a question or concern. Homework and other important
information will be included in your child’s homework folder.
Word
Lists
Word lists are used to help build the students sight word vocabulary. The words are taken from the stories we read in class. The more sight words a child knows the more he/she can concentrate on comprehension. The lists should be kept in the folders at all times. They will be checked at least once a week. As a list is mastered, a new one will be added. The students will work at his/her own pace. This year we have added a new selection of vocabulary words called robust words. These words are introduced to enrich the children's vocabulary.
Lunch Money
Lunch money and/or snack money should be sent to school in an envelope
marked with child’s name and homeroom. Thank you!
Our lunch this year is from 11:25 AM -12:05 PM.
Climate Control
Our classroom is climate controlled. In warm weather the classrooms can get chilly. Please dress your children for the classroom and as per the dress code. It may be too cold for sleeveless shirts and dresses.
Spelling Words
Spelling words will be given each week to go along with the stories we read in class. Look for the Spelling Take Home sheets for the new words and the date of the test. Spelling tests are usually are Fridays. Take a look at the class website for a list of the weekly spelling words.
