- POSITION: Education Sign Language Interpreter/Educational Assistant
- START DATE: September 1, 2010
- QUALIFICATIONS:
- Has completed a formalized program in interpreting for the hearing impaired/deaf.
- Has had experience in interpreting, or is certified by the Registry of Interpreters for the deaf.
- Certificate: Educational Interpreter Sign Language Interpreting (#3436)
- Satisfactory health status as certified by a physician
- Requires criminal history background check and proof of U.S. citizenship
- JOB GOAL: To provide interpreting services and intervention strategies for a student who is classified “Auditorily Impaired.” To facilitate communication between teachers, staff and students. To translate into ASL - lessons, assignments, and classroom discussions. To assist the staff in understanding the unique communication needs of hearing impaired/deaf students. To assist the classified student in participating in and building peer relationships through ASL translation.
- SALARY: $28,000–$31,000 (based on experience and certification), Full Benefits
